Sponsor us

At the end of our two wheeled biking adventure riding the length of the Americas, we realised that we have some amazing and unique nature and wildlife right here in Australia that exists nowhere else in the world. As a result, based on our ride we are raising money to support Trowunna Wildlife Park at Mole Creek Tasmania. This park aims to rescue and care for native Tasmanian wildlife specialising in carnivorous marsupials like quolls and tasmanian devils. We visited this park a few years ago and were very impressed with their care for Tasmanian native animals and their involvement in research of facial tumours of Tasmanian devils. As of May 2011 Trowunna Wildlife Park will receive funding to enable a population of 50 devils to be incorporated into its intensively-managed captive population to act as an 'arc' population of 'tumour-free' devils.

To help us raise money for Trowunna you can donate directly to Trowunna via your internet banking.

Be sure to mention 'The Fuego Project', so we can keep track of the funds raised in our name. Of course all donations are tax deductible and Trowunna will send you a receipt for your donation. Please email RJ on rj@trowunna.com.au to confirm that a receipt will be sent to you for your records.

If you are in the Netherlands or another place outside of Australia and you cannot use internet banking please email us at thefuegoproject@gmail.com for other methods of donating to Trowunna.

Even though we have finished our bike journey, it's never too late to sponsor us and donate to Trowunna.

You can sponsor us for a flat rate like $50 or $500 (if you're feeling super generous) or if you are more of a masochist and enjoy knowing that we have suffered for this, you can pledge your donation based on how many gruelling kilometres we actually rode.

Ie. for the whole trip of 32378km

@ 1c per km = $323.78 or @ 1 eurocent per km = €323.78 ____-----___@ 5c per km = AUD$37.50 or @ 1 eurocent per km = €37.50

Remember this is not fundraising for our own costs. ALL MONEY raised through this sponsorship will go to Trowunna and will go toward day-to-day care of Tasmanian wildlife and care of their caprive-bred tasmanian devil populations.

Stay tuned to our website, maybe we'll write a book or be giving presentation evenings on our bike tour from Alaska to Ushuaia.
